Why did you set up Inspiring Women in Medicine?

Because I saw that my hard working female colleagues in private practice and the NHS lacked the opportunity to socialise with like-minded women who could share expertise and experiences in a relaxed and informal environment. My aim is the enjoyable facilitation of flourishing ideas and knowledge.

So it’s not just networking?

Certainly networking is one of the main activities, it’s a fantastic opportunity to link up across multi disciplines and learn from each other. And of course networking underpins the building of a community and the opportunity to avoid the isolation of often being a lone woman in a team of men.

But you have speakers too?

Yes, we have speakers who can share their expertise about the business side of medicine. Things like marketing, social media and leadership for example – this is especially useful for the many women running a medical related business alongside their own central role.  Speaker will also be brought in to clarify new local and national policies as they arise.

Our members are encouraged to suggest topics they would like covered and, unlike many such events we will provide CPD certificates in conjunction with the Lister Hospital

How often do you meet?

Our evening meetings with speaker happen bi-monthly but there are also workshops and one to one coaching sessions happening throughout the year.

Do I have to take out a subscription to join IWIM?

No you can attend one event for £85.00 and there are other packages available for specialists, practitioners and group practices. We love seeing new inspiring women in medicine at our events! Just click here

Is there an opportunity for Corporate Sponsorship?

Yes indeed businesses can sponsor an event for £500, this means they are mentioned in our newsletter, can attend an event and are able to share any information about their business. They just need to get in touch via the contact page on our website
